A Picture is Worth…

Recently I have been spending quite a bit of time writing and gathering information for my upcoming book, From The Booth…Some Kenosha Softball. So I have decided rather than write a blog, I will post some pictures that I took today while riding along our lakefront. The pics will give my friends in Michigan and England an idea what Kenosha looks like. I think it was Judi from the UP that called my fair city a "drunken little fishing town."

Some Sand, a Pier and a Pair of Lighthouses

A Goose Going For a Walk

Our Band Shell

A Statue of Some Famous Guy

The Lighthouses From a Different Angle

Well that's it for show 'n' tell today. Please don't ask me who the statue is supposed to be. And Bev, that's a Band shell, not a Bombshell. I will be back with a Survivor update on Thursday. Until then…from the booth.

OH come on now Paul! How can you be of Italian descent and not know that "famous person" is Columbus! Erected there by the Sons of Italian Descent in Kenosha! You better have been joking because someone is going to hunt you down and take away your official Italian ID card! LOL

Also, didn't you know that Kenosha was apparently discovered by Columbus? It must be true because I can't think of any other reason our lakefront park has a statue of him planted there! Hahaha!!

Gorgeous photos though! I love our lakefront and it is a stunner when other people see it who aren't from around these parts.

Very good photographs - lovely and clear. Is not the famous guy Christopher Colombus ? (Definitely not Abraham Lincoln). Await Thursday !

Very pretty pics! I miss being closer to water. I wake up hearing the train whistling along the muddy Monongahela in my dreams.

I am so embarrassed! What kind of Italian am I? You are so right Mary. I now remember all the stuff in the Kenosha News.

And then Sue recognizes him all the way from England. Imagine the humiliation…

Julie, I think that I have been in your neck of the woods. My sister lives just outside of Pittsburgh in Washington, PA.

A book is a great idea. You have some great posts that you could weave into a book.

If I were going to do pictures of Kenosha, I would include some gritty pictures too. You need a few empty storefronts and closed factories.

Greg, the book that I am doing is about Kenosha softball. Although a book about our city in pictures would be very interesting, it's not for me. I am afraid that I don't have the talent for something like that.

Well it was going to be either Christopher Columbus or Abraham Lincoln and I took the view as it was on the lakefront it would be the first. (and I swear when I put my comment there were no others on here!). I am sure you could make a good photographer too Paul. (How weird - the word verification for my comment approval is symed!).
